Professional Development
Our commitment to professional development puts MaPS on the cutting-edge of the marketing research and consulting field. At MaPS you will find a dynamic and intellectually challenging environment where we constantly expand our knowledge base and provide our staff with a unique opportunity to participate in and contribute to the learning process.
Every project at MaPS is different, so the skills and knowledge you take away from your experience on each assignment are unique. However, we also recognize that professional advancement comes from combining your day-to-day project experience with more formal training. At MaPS, our approach to training blends best-in-business practices with our sophisticated academic perspective.
At MaPS you will…
- learn directly from professionals with years of market research, consulting, and general business experience
- gain first-hand experience with complex research methodologies and learn their "ins" and "outs" directly from experts in their application
- continually fine tune your general process skills
MaPS has developed a structured training program, available to all employees, that combines many aspects of market research experience and provides a comprehensive development program for our staff.
MaPS Orientation
This initial session is designed to introduce new employees to MaPS' environment, basic business processes, resources, role in the marketplace, and our corporate culture.
Pizza Lunch Series
Knowledge-sharing at its best! Project teams present their experiences and key learnings from recently completed projects - these serve as an excellent forum for discussion and exchange of "know-how" and best practices.
The Breakfast Club
An ongoing, structured training program offered by MaPS' principals and senior management designed to enhance company-wide knowledge and expand the skill-base of our junior staff. You may have guessed this from the name, but these sessions are generally held in the morning (before the excitement of the day begins). The program includes over 30 learning modules that you will be offered during your first year at MaPS. Topics include:
- Basic Business Training
- Market Research Roles and Responsibilities
- Project Management
- Research Methods
- Research Skill-Building Seminars
- Basic Statistics
- Qualitative Research
- Measurement and Questionnaire Design
- Data Collection and Processing
- Sampling and Weighting
- Software Productivity (Excel, Word, Power Point)
- Business Writing (by outside expert)
- Time Management (by outside expert)
And that's not all! You will also have opportunities to pursue individual development goals by taking advantage of our affiliations with universities, trade associations, and our access to knowledge sharing resources within our Millward Brown/Kantar/WPP family.
